Gyrokinesis® the class based version of Gyrotonic® that stretches, and strengthens, helps posture and back pain.

Gyrokinesis® is a new method of exercise which helps lengthen and strengthen muscles, stimulates circulation, enhances flexibility, helps in the mobility of the joints and co-ordination. It also provides back pain relief and rehabilitates the body after injury.

Gyrokinesis® (exercises allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement. In this method of rhythmic, ‘spinal yoga,’ you will learn movement which incorporates arching, curling, bending, twisting and spiralling of the spine. Corresponding breath patterns help to properly stimulate the nervous system, open up energy pathways and oxygenate the blood. Techniques are used to invigorate and re-educate the body to move with freedom, ease and core power.

Classes build up gradually, often starting with self massage to awaken the senses and prepare the body for quality movements. Movements flow from one pattern to another as the class progresses and movements deepen. There is a continuity through the whole class. Classes begin seated on the stool, progressing to the floor – sitting and lying and finally to standing.

Some of the hallmarks of Gyrokinesis® exercises are the fluidity of the movements and the ease with which anyone can perform them.

You will be left, at the end of each Gyrokinesis® session, with a physical and mental sense of calm confidence and enormous energy.
