Gong Yoga Nidra – Balancing the Chakras with Carolyn McTaggart (Raj Adesh Kaur)

“The chakras are the keys to being human and being happy.” – Yogi Bhajan

This blissful 90-minute session will start with some gentle exercise, breath work and mantra followed by yoga nidra (guided meditation) to prepare the mind and body to receive the healing vibrations of the gong.

The seven chakras are centres of consciousness. Each acts like a multi-dimensional gateway of transformational energy. Kundalini energy can become blocked or focused and polarised on a particular chakra – effecting physical and emotional change and influencing our behaviours and attitudes.

We constantly attract vibrations to ourselves that are on the same wavelength as those chakras we’re operating from. The gong’s rhythmic overtones make it a powerful instrument for opening and balancing the flow of energy through all seven chakras, so they come into natural balance and interplay.

“If you can practice and understand these chakras, and develop them automatically in your body so they become your companions, then you have seven friends.”

My new love on Monday or Tuesday nights is Kundalini Yoga with Carolyn McTaggart. I love the combination of chanting, kriyas and meditation, and for me it’s my new yoga drug of choice. Carolyn not only gives fantastic instruction in a kind and gentle way but she has so much energy and enthusiasm for Kundalini that is shines through. The classes are always full, so booking is essential and it ensures there is always a tremendous energy and group dynamic in the class.
