Victoria Willard

As a former ballet dancer with The Scottish Ballet, Victoria Willard initially trained as a qualified instructor, going on to work with some of the best-known dancers in the world. Now resident at The Movement Studio, Victoria will design a specific Pilates-based programme for you, one that precisely meets your goals and needs – a plan that grows with you as your body strengthens and adapts.

Physiotherapists, osteopaths and general practitioners all recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise. What makes this course special is that it's lead by Victoria Willard herself.

It should be made clear; Victoria is a supremely gifted specialist, a comprehensively qualified teacher with a top class formal teaching qualification from the Pilates Foundation. Victoria’s grounding in the exacting world of Ballet ensures that she has a refined eye for detail and a highly tuned, perhaps unique, sense of feel which helps her uniquely communicate what good movements should feel like for clients of all ages and physical conditions.

Whether observing exactly what should be improved in order to bring the body into balance, or in gauging the correct intensity at which movements should be undertaken, the former dancer retains an excellent appreciation of her clients’ aims and expectations, regardless of their backgrounds and experience with exercise.

Despite the professional rigour that informs her teaching, Victoria Willard emphasises that her classes are also “fun, interesting and, most importantly, open to all.”

I suffered from increasing back and nerve pain for years from my 20s through to my 40s, spent thousands on specialists and had reached the point where my ability to work was impacted. Now, after just under a year of working with Kate and Fin, I can do exercise again, and carry out normal, day to day tasks without worry or stress.
