About Nicki

Nicki KingIn 1998 Nicki graduated with a BA in Business Management & Leisure Studies and launched her career in Event management. After nine years working in the Events industry, Nicki decided to radically change her professional goals to study fitness and wellbeing.

In 2007 Nicki studied personal training, whilst working for a private fitness and nutrition company, who were dedicated to maintaining the wellbeing of Vetco Gray employees. During this time Nicki found a great deal of personal satisfaction in helping clients reach their personal fitness targets. She was inspired to further her education and decided to study complementary therapies, in particular Remedial and Sports Massage. This interest stemmed from the relief experienced from many years of chronic pain, resulting from an old injury. Remedial Massage coupled with Reflexology saw a dramatic improvement of her health and quality of life, and Nicki’s attraction to holistic therapies turned into a strong desire to help others in the same way.

Throughout her massage training Nicki worked for Brooks-Carter Osteopathy Clinic in Aberdeen. In 2011 she moved overseas to Dubai and continued her career working on a self-employed basis with a variety of different clients, treating a range of conditions from modern life aches and pains, through to sports injuries and prevention, including regular treatment of rugby players and marathon runners. Working with infertility and pregnancy through Reflexology also became a focal point following several positive outcomes. The benefits of this therapy to mother and baby are outstanding and are now recognised on the NHS.

Whilst living in the UAE Nicki studied Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and in June 2016 completed the two year course and achieved her practitioner’s diploma. The profound biodynamic approach follows the body’s natural wisdom to heal itself and compliments all three of her other therapies.

Nicki is a member of Scottish Massage Therapist Organisation (SMTO) and has achieved three diplomas from the accredited Scottish Massage Schools; namely Remedial and Sports Massage, Reflexology and Swedish Massage. These modalities coupled with her Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy provide an extensive range of treatments to ease pain and rehabilitation of both physical and emotional injuries, which fits perfectly with the overall ethos of the Movement Studio.

I first tried Nicki because I wanted some TLC. As a working mother with a 4 year old toddler Reflexology was a treat. But then I started feeling and seeing the impact of the treatment and was hooked. We tried for 18 months to fall pregnant and with Nicki's holistic approach to everything in life I tried Craniosacral Therapy with the Reflexology. I am convinced that led us to being able to conceive our second child. If you are looking for a well balanced and inspiring therapist with a holistic approach - look no further you have found her!
